| Ron Malvin started his career at NBC in his teens, as a film editing apprentice for KNBC News. After working his way up to film editor, he received an EMMY nomination for a KNBC documentary called "The Vanishing Lands". Soon after, he made the jump to editing tape, rising to Senior Video Editor in the Network News Department. This included travelling for "Nightly News" and "Today" domestically and internationally, and a stint in the Network Documentary Unit. Next, Ron moved to KCBS, joining the team under Executive Producer Joel Tator in creating the successful magazine show, "Two on the Town". While at TOTT, Ron edited as well as worked in the field as a sound technician, receiving EMMY nominations in both categories. He also gained extensive experience onlining the popular strip show and cutting promos. In 1985, he left KCBS to establish FACE Broadcast Productions. Today, he manages FACE's facility, from video engineering to the latest computer applications. At the same time, he is still in demand as an editor, lending his talents to everything from television specials to commercials, for clients from the broadcasting world as well as the corporate sector. His latest national editing award was for the medical Video News Release, "Prosorba Column". |
